The Muntinlupa City government is set to roll out RIDE Med (Responsive Integrated Delivery of Essential Medicines), a free delivery service that brings maintenance medicine directly to the homes of qualified senior citizens.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon introduced the initiative to ease the burden on elderly residents, especially those with mobility challenges. “We cannot let our grandparents—especially those who can no longer walk—be left behind. With RIDE Med, the service comes to them. Their medicines will be delivered straight to their homes,” Biazon said.
The program targets residents aged 80 and above, as well as bedridden seniors aged 60 and older. Beneficiaries will receive a monthly supply of prescribed maintenance medicines such as losartan, amlodipine, metformin, and atorvastatin, which are used to manage common health conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
Deliveries will be carried out by assigned RIDE Med riders, accompanied by barangay health workers to ensure proper coordination and monitoring.
To qualify, seniors must be residents of Muntinlupa City. Registration may be done by a caregiver or relative at local barangay health centers, or through home visits by calling dedicated hotlines.
Meanwhile, other senior citizens—even those below 80 or not bedridden—may still access free maintenance medicines by enrolling in the city’s ongoing "Love ko si Lolo, Love ko si Lola" program. These medicines can be picked up at their respective health centers.
Mayor Biazon said RIDE Med marks a significant step forward in elderly care. “This is more than just free medicine. It’s about bringing healthcare directly to where it’s needed most—giving our seniors dignity, comfort, and peace of mind.”
