Isabela 'super seniors' granted ₱10k under Expanded Centenarian Act

ILAGAN, Isabela — Some 38 so-called 'super senior citizens' in Jones, Isabela received financial assistance under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarian Act of 2024. According to Jones municipal administrator Manuel Cabungcal Jr., 30 seniors aged 80 and 85, and seven others, aged 90 and 95 were granted ₱10,000 each.
One centenarian, Bienvenida Salvador, received ₱100,000 from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), along with an additional ₱10,000 cash gift from the local government unit (LGU).
Cabungcal disclosed that in support of the payout, the Jones Municipal Health Office provided free medical consultations and distributed free medicines to senior citizens in attendance during the awarding ceremonies.
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office encouraged all senior citizens in Jones to actively participate in the programs of the NCSC to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of benefits.
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to both the NCSC and their local officials for the implementation of the Expanded Centenarian Act and for recognizing the contributions of elderly citizens.
