"You may agree or disagree with their choices… but the integrity of each and every member of the Jury since we took charge in 2016, especially on this 50th edition of the MMFF cannot be assailed," ani Ferrer.
"No leaks, definitely no cooking show… only the Jury Chair and the MMFF Executive Director knew the results, not even I or any member of the Execom. Rest assured, there was due process and the judgment was fair and sound and final!!!," dagdag pa niya.
Kabilang sa MMFF Board of Jurors ang awtor at propesor Nicanor Tiongson, Film Development Council of the Philippines CEO and President Jose Javier Reyes, at Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.
Kasama rin sa jury ang aktor na si John Arcilla, Film Academy of the Philippines Director-General Paolo Villaluna, scriptwriter Roy Iglesias, PMPPA producer Jesse Ejercito, cinematographer Videlle Briones-Meily, at columnist Thomas Orbos.
Bahagi rin ng jury sina journalist Marinel Cruz, MMDA Solid Waste Management Office Atty. Cesar Ona Jr., iACADEMY President Racquel Wong, at Robinsons Movieworld Operations Director Evylene Advincula.
Pagkatapos ng awards night, trending topics sina Aga Muhlach and Eugene Domingo sa social media matapos mapansin ng mga netizen na hindi man lang na-nominate ang dalawa para sa Best Actor at Best Actress categories kahit na maganda ang performance nila sa pelikulang "Uninvited" at "And the Breadwinner Is...", ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod.
Inusisa rin nila kung bakit hindi man lang na-nominate sa Best Director Award sina Jun Robles Lana ng "And the Breadwinner Is..." at Dan Villegas ng "Uninvited."
Dinomina ng "Green Bones" ang MMFF ngayong taon matapos masungkit ang Best Picture, Best Actor in a Lead Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, at Best Child Performer.
Itinanghal naman na 2nd Best Picture ang "The Kingdom," 3rd Best Picture ang "My Future You," at 4th Best Picture ang "Isang Himala."
