"We, at the MMFF, are overwhelmed with the continued support of the public for the festival’s 50th edition. Due to public clamor, we have decided to extend the theatrical run of the MMFF movies to further showcase the locally produced films that are truly impressive and artistically excellent," anang MMDA chairman Atty.

Bahagi ng kita ng film fest ay napupunta sa Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), Film Academy of the Philippines, Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council, Optical Media Board, at Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

Sampu ang piling entries ngayong taon. Ito ay ang ''And The Breadwinner Is,'' ''Espantaho,'' ''Green Bones,'' ''Hold Me Close,'' ''Isang Himala,'' ''My Future You,'' ''Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,'' ''The Kingdom,'' ''Topakk,'' at ''Uninvited.''
