MAKATI CITY, Metro Manila — Once again, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera was given recognition for her outstanding performance in the film 'Balota' produced by GMA Pictures, GMA Entertainment Group and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
The Kapuso actress bagged the Excellence in Performance award at the 4th Primetime Media Choice Awards in Makati City for playing the role of teacher Emmy in the film.
Prior to this, Marian was one of the recipients of the Best Actress award at the 3rd Gawad Dangal Filipino Awards and won the Best Actress award (Film) at the 2024 TAG Victorious Awards Chicago for the same movie.
Directed by newbie Kip Oebanda of 'Liway' fame in 2018, 'Balota' tells the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who is locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town in the province.
As Emmy, Marian runs into the wilderness to protect a ballot box, containing the last copy of the election results that would spell who is the winner between the tycoon and sexy actor.
