Nasungkit nina Judy Ann Santos at Dennis Trillo ang Best Actress at Best Actor trophies sa katatapos lang na awards ceremony ng Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) na nagdiriwang din ng ika-50 taong anibersaryo ngayong taon.

Emosyonal na tinanggap ni Juday ang tropeyo para sa kanyang pagganap sa pelikulang "Espantaho."

Tinalo niya ang iba pang nominees na sina Aicelle Santos (Isang Himala), Francine Diaz (My Future You), Jane de Leon (Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital), Julie Montes (Topakk), at Vilma Santos (Uninvited).

"Ang sarap sa pakiramdam, Espantaho team, para sa ating lahat 'to. Hindi ko magagawa ang trabahong ito without my Nanay LT, Tita Chanda, and my anak Kean," ani Juday. "This wouldn’t be possible without your great support. Acting is reacting. Naniniwala ako na hindi ko magagawa ‘yung trabaho ko kundi dahil sa inyo."

Sa kabilang dako, itinanghal naman si Dennis Trillo na Best Actor in a leading role para sa kanyang pagganap sa MMFF 2024 Best Picture na "Green Bones" na dinomina rin ang ibang kategorya.

Nahigitan ni Dennis ang kapwa niya Best Actor nominees na sina Vice Ganda (And the Breadwinner Is...), Seth Fedelin (My Future You), Vic Sotto (The Kingdom), Piolo Pascual (The Kingdom), at Arjo Atayde (Topakk).

Ang co-star ni Dennis na si Ruru Madrid ang kinilalang Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Sa direksyon ni Zig Dulay, nakamit din ng "Green Bones" ang Best Screenplay award na ibinigay kina National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee at Anj Atienza, habang kinilala rin si Neil Daza bilang Best Cinematographer.

"Ang pagkilalang ito ay magsisilbing inspirasyon para sa amin para gumawa pa ng mas maraming pelikula, mga pelikulang hindi lamang magbibigay ng aliw kundi bubuhay sa pag-asa at magbibigay ng inspirasyon para sa lahat," ani Dulay.
