VATICAN CITY, Rome — Italian movie producer Andrea Iervolino took it upon himself to take the time and meet with newly elected Pope Leo XIV at the pontiff’s palace in the Vatican with veteran Hollywood actor Al Pacino.

Iervolino is a multi-awarded filmmaker who won the 2023 Capri Hollywood Award and was also recognized by the Italian Contemporary Film Festival with the People's Choice Award for Best Film Production for several films, including 'Ferrari' (2023), 'Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend' (2022), 'The Music of Silence' (2017) and 'All Roads Lead to Rome' (2015).

On the other hand, Pacino also met with the Pope as he stars in Iernovino's latest flick 'Maserati: The Brothers', a biopic on Italy’s legendary Maserati family that also features veteran actor Anthony Hopkins and Andy Garcia.

Iervolino described his meeting with Leo XIV as a moment of “profound spiritual and cultural inspiration, centered around shared values that lie at the heart of both the Catholic Church and the film: family unity, love, compassion and the importance of contributing to the common good.”

“These values, which Pope Leo XIV has consistently emphasized in his recent messages to the world, resonate deeply with the story of the Maserati brothers: a family whose legacy was built not only on innovation and excellence but on profound mutual respect, solidarity, and a shared vision,” he enthused emphatically.

Pacino is now distinguished as the first actor to meet with Pope Leo XIV who was elected last month and is the first pontiff from the United States of America.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Magenta Light Studios has acquired U.S. rights to 'Maserati: The Brothers' and the plan is for the movie to hit the bug screen in more than 2,000 movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada and more than 450 across Italy and Spain.

'Maserati: The Brothers' follows the remarkable legacy of the Maserati family, automotive pioneers who helped shape the luxury sports car industry.
