Legendary actor and comedian Dick Van Dyke reflected on his remarkable and colorful life in Coldplay's nostalgic and emotional new music video, "All My Love."
Singing and dancing alongside his loved ones, the 98-year-old star celebrated a lifetime of achievements in the seven-minute video co-directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Jonze and Mary Wigmore.
The video begins with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin playing piano outside Van Dyke's backyard in Malibu, California.
As Martin and Van Dyke sing together, the footage transitions to snapshots of the actor’s life, including personal mementos, family moments, and highlights from his illustrious Hollywood career.
Van Dyke dances barefoot, later joined by his wife, Arlene Silver, and other family members. The video also captures clips of the actor reflecting on his life.
"I’m acutely aware that I could go any day now," Van Dyke admitted. "But I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it. I have that feeling, totally against anything intellectual, that I’m going to be alright."
He also described himself as one of "those lucky people who got to do for a living" what they would have done anyway.
"Think how lucky I am. I got to do what I do — play and act silly," he said.
The beloved entertainer’s humor shines through during an interview segment, where he was asked to close his eyes and reflect on the people who have meant something to him.
After a brief pause, Van Dyke quipped, "I’m too old for this, I’ll pass out and go to sleep."
The actor also reenacted iconic steps reminiscent of his performances in "Mary Poppins" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show."
He is also known for starring in the movie musicals Bye Bye Birdie (1963) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968).
Van Dyke's illustrious career earned him six Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Tony Award.
He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993.
"All My Love" is part of Coldplay's latest album, Moon Music.
Another version of the video is set to be released on December 13, coinciding with Van Dyke's 99th birthday.
