PHSU, Mandaluyong City — The Philippine Skating Union (PhSU) will be pinning its medal hopes on University of the Philippines (UP) student Charmaine Skye Chua when the national figure skating team competes in this year's Fédération internationale du sport universitaire (FISU) Winter World University Games in Turin, Italy. 

The 21-year-old UP student, who is also a Sparkle artist, will be the school's first Winter Universiade competitor and the country's flag bearer in the prestigious tournament scheduled this January 13 to 23, 2025.

Chua previously competed at the Southeast Asian Games Open Figure Skating Trophy in July last year, where she placed third. 

As an actress, Skye recently appeared in GMA Prime's 'Pulang Araw', where she played the Japanese character Yuki in the Netflix historical fiction series

She previously appeared in a supporting role in the figure skating series 'Hearts on Ice' with Wowowin co-host Ashley Ortega and local heartthrob Xian Lim.
