United States and Iran may return to the negotiating table to iron out differences in the previous attempt to end their conflict.
The possibility of another round of talks is being strongly supported by Pakistan that hosted last week’s failed negotiations between US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
US President Donald Trump has also admitted such possibility, saying that second round of talks might happen “over the next two days”, with Islamabad being the venue of choice.

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has aired hopes for a restart, saying this is “highly probable.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Ministger Shehbaz Sharif is headed to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkiye, with Middle East peace as the main agenda of his talks with leaders of the three countries.
Proposals for a new set of talks has reportedly been sent to Washington and Tehran although there remains no clear decision if it will be accepted.
No date has been set for the delegates of US and Iran to restart and attempt a breakthrough for a possible permanent truce.
Vance had insisted that the US proposal during the Islamabad talks is “final and best offer”.
The two countries, together with Israel, are observing a two week ceasefire that brought respite to the economic distress being felt by many countries as result of their hostilities.
