KAMPO AGUINALDO, Lungsod Quezon — Ngayon pa lang ay inatasan na ni Armed Forces chief-of-staff Lieutenant General Romeo Brawner Jr. ang hanay ng mga sundalo, partikular na ang mga kasapi ng Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom) ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) upang paghandaan ang mga posibleng kaganapan tulad ng posibilidad ng pagsiklab ng kaguluhan sa Taiwan.

Sa pagdalo ni Gen. Brawner bilang panauhing pandangal sa ika-38 taong anibersaryo ng NoLCom sa Camp Servillano Aquino sa Tarlac City, inihayag nitong isa sa magiging frontliner ng hukbong sandatahan ay ang Northern Luzon Command sakaling sumiklab ang kaguluhan sa Taiwan.

“NoLCom is our frontliner here in the Northern hemisphere. As I, as we saw a while ago in their shift to territorial defense, they have gone a long, long way already,” punto ng hepe ng AFP.

“But let me give you this challenge, this further challenge: Do not be content with securing just the Northern hemisphere up to Mavulis Island. Start planning for actions in case there is an invasion of Taiwan,” hinayag ng heneral

Ayon dito, tiyak umanong masasangkot ang sandatahang lakas ng Pilipinas dahil kakailanganing iligtss ang mahigit 250,000 mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na nagtatrabaso sa Taiwan.

“It will be the task of the NoLCom to be at the frontline of that operation,” tinukoy ni Brawner.
Bukod sa Taiwan, nabanggit din nito ang panghihimasok ng China sa ating bansa.

"But the next conflict, big conflict that we will be experiencing, will not be against our own people. So we have to prepare for that, ano, and when I when I talk about warfare, we are already, we are already at war," aniya.

"I am not referring to the kinetic warfare that we see between Ukraine and Russia or between Israel and Hamas. But we are experiencing already cyber warfare, information warfare, cognitive warfare, political warfare. So sinisikitan na tayo," dagdag ng heneral.

"Communist China is already conducting united front works in our country, ano. So, dapat aware tayo, ang ating mga sundalo, aware tayo, ano. Hindi po kathang-isip 'yan na pinapasukan na nila. They're already infiltrating our institutions, our schools, our businesses, our churches, even our ranks in the military, ano. So kailangan nating magmatiyag," kanyang idiniin.
