Extreme heat levels likely to continue in several areas

Heat will be at extreme levels in various parts of the country in the next two days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned on Wednesday (April 10)
Earlier, the state weather forecast agency said eight areas may have experienced high heat index on Wednesday. The levels indicated have reached the danger zone of 42ºC to 51ºC.
Dagupan City in Pangasinan was expected to experience a 44ºC heat index on Thursday and Friday.
Dagupan started experiencing 44ºC since April 8, it was gathered.
On Thursday (April 11), heat index reaching 43ºC will be felt in Puerto Princesa and Aborlan, Palawan, while 42ºC will be over Bacnotan La Union and Roxas City, Capiz.
The same four localities were expected to feel 43C heat index on Friday.
Aparri and Tugegarao City in Cagayan, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur and Cotabato City Maguindanao will register 42ºC heat incdex
According to Pagasa head a index ranging from 42 to 51 already considered dangerous to public health. People may suffer heat exhaustion or in worse situation heat stroke.
