Except for linking a “crucial personality” to the operations of illegal Philippine Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the country, dismissed Bamban (Tarlac) Mayor Alice Guo divulge nothing substantial to senators hoping to hear a vital scoop from her during an executive session on Tuesday (September 24).
Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros admitted dissatisfaction from Go’s closed-door testimony although she welcomed the former mayor’s statement linking the “crucial personality” to the illegal POGO activities.
Hontiveros said the person identified by Guo was the same individual whom she already named during the earlier stages of the Senate hearings on the POGO inquiry.
“Hindi pa rin ako masyadong satisfied sa mga pahayag sa executive session bagama’t there was one crucial personality confirmed by Guo Hua Ping. This corroborates a theory that the Committee shared a month ago,” she stated.
Hontiveros and members of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality have agreed to grant Guo her wish for an executive session because they anticipated more information to be revealed by Guo.
Guo insisted that she was a mere victim in the POGO scheme and that she was ready to name the “most guilty” only in a closed door session.
Another executive session has been set by the Senate panel, this time they want to more information detailing the personalities behind the POGO operations in the country.
Guo’s sudden decision to cooperate with the Senate could have been triggered by her transfer to a detention cell shared with dozens of women facing various criminal charges.
