Eight Japanese deported from PH arrested in Japan for defrauding seniors

Immediately after their deportation from the Philippines, eight Japanese nationals were arrested by the police inside the airplane for alleged involvement in telecom fraud victimizing elderly people.
Immigration authorities in the Philippines escorted the five suspects, aged 25 to 35, to the Japan-bound airplane and immediately alerted Japanese police that promptly arrested them.
The Bureau of Immigration in the Philippines revealed that the five Japanese were being hunted in their country for allegedly defrauding elderly folk.
The suspects were arrested in Laguna province in 2020 for overstaying and illegally working in the Philippines.
They were placed in the same detention facility as senior members of the “Luffy” crime ring in the Philippines.
The group, it was learned coordinated burglaries in Japan through remote system which are sent from their detention quarters in the Philippines.
