4/3/24, 5:20 AM
A warrant of arrest has been issued by a Davao City court against Apollo Quiboloy, a man claiming to be the adopted son of God.
The new arrest order added to the over a dozen warrants seeking to put Quiboloy under the jurisdiction of local and United States courts.
Similar warrants have been issued by the Senate and the House of Representatives after the two legislative chambers found Quiboloy guilty of contempt.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women, Childeren, Family Relations and Gender Equality, confirmed that Quiboloy has been ordered arrested by a Regional Trial Court branch in Davao City.
Also ordered arrested by the court were Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada and Sylvia Cemañes. They are Quiboloy’s co-accused charges of sexual abuse and chid abuse under Section 5 (b) and Section 10 (a) of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Court records showed that the charges have previously been dismissed by the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office in 2020.
However, upon review, the Department of Justice overturned the previous resolution and elevated the case for prosecution before the judiciary.
Orders of arrest have previously been issued by the federal court in the United States against Quiboloy.
