Valenzuela city gov’t offers free anti-pneumonia vaccines to senior citizens

The city government headed by Mayor Weslie Gatchalian announced the schedule of vaccination for senior citizens that will be held in parks in
Valenzuela.

Residents aged 60 and above were urged to avail of the vaccination on the following dates;

June 3 to 7 - People’s Park

June 10, 11 and June 13 , 14 - Family Park

June 17 to 21 - Polo Park

June 24 to 28 - People’s Park

Those who intend to avail of the free anti-pneumonia vaccines were asked to bring their senior citizens identification card issued by the Valenzuela City Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA); medical clearance (for those with co-morbidities) and pneumonia vaccine card if available.

The vaccination will be conducted from 9 am to 3 pm on a first come, first serve basis.

To be given vaccine shots are senior citizens who are asymptomatic (no cough, colds, fever, sore throat and other flue symptoms); not currently taking anti-bacterial or steroidal medicines, not vaccinated with other vaccines within the last 14 days or two seeks prior to the scheduled anti-pneumonia vaccination and have not received pneumococcal vaccine within the previous fiv e years.
