Women senior citizens in Quezon City are mostly the beneficiaries of free clinical breast examination and mammograms offered by the city government in celebration of the Breast Cancer Awareness Week this October.

QC, which also commemorated its 85th Foundation Dat on October 12, will open its health centers for the breast exam screening initiatives that will benefit women who are 50 years old and above.

The city government said those who are positive to be suffering from breast cancer will receive free treatment such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy or surgery.

City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the free breast examination package will extended until the end of 2024.

Interested individuals are advised to visit the health centers nearest them on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the City Health Office women found to have lumps will be assisted with medication at the East Avenue Medical Center.
