People in a Pampanga town are both infuriated and saddened by the rape and murder of an octogenarian by a suspected drug addict at the victim’s house last Saturday (January 4).

Footages recovered from closed-circuit cameras in Floridablanca town led to the arrest of the suspect, whom the police identified only as “Alexander.”

Police Lt. Col. Julius Alvaro, Floridablanca police station commander, said the suspect was believed to be both high on drugs and drunk when he attacks the bedridden 84-year-old victim who was then alone.

Initial investigation indicated that Alexander entered the victim’s house on Saturday and took two cellular phones and a wallet lying near the victim’s bed.

After getting the valuables, Alexander reportedly sexually abused the sickly octogenarian then stabbed her to death.

The suspect was immediately identified from the closed-circuit cameras that recorded him fleeing the residence of the victim’s family.

According to the police the suspect used to work for the victim.

He was arrested hours after committing the crime. The stolen items were recovered in his possession.
