The Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FISCAP) has recently elected new officers to fill up key positions in the organization.
Considered as the country’s oldest and biggest senior citizens organization, the FSCAP unanimously elected Javier S. Abasolo as its national president. Abasolo is the president of FSCAP Region XIII.
Given fresh mandates during an election held in Makati City were Manuel Churchill P. Altarejos as executive vice president; Romeo Q. Allam, vice president for Luzon; Amelia C. Kiamko, vice president for Visayas and Pelong U. Guialudin, vice president for Mindanao and BARMM.
The rest of the officers including secretary Albina L. Sarona and treasurer Conchita Guerrero will remain in their current positions in holdover capacity.
FSCAP-NCR president Jorge Banal noted that the election of Abasolo is a testament of FSCAP’s solidarity as he was elected unopposed.
“The nominations of majority of those elected were no longer contested. This is a testament of how strong and united FSCAP is,” said Banal.
FSCAP remains to be the only federation of senior citizens organization in the country that is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and accredited by the National Commission of Senior Citizens and the Department of Social Welfare Development.
