In a major move toward digital inclusion, the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have agreed to launch the National Senior Citizens ID (NSCID) that will benefit over 12 million Filipino senior citizens.
The new digital NSCID will be available through the eGovPH Super App, the government’s main mobile platform for integrated public services.
This innovation, part of the “Bagong Pilipinas” program, aims to make it easier for Filipino senior citizens to enjoy their rights and privileges—such as discounts, healthcare benefits, transportation perks, and retail advantages—without the hassle of traditional paperwork.
By moving from physical IDs to a secure, app-based system, the project is expected to reduce red tape, improve service delivery, and minimize reliance on physical documents.
The launch also supports the government’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda, which emphasizes stronger coordination among national agencies, local government units (LGUs), the private sector, and civil society in recognizing digital IDs.
NCSC Chairperson and CEO Dr. Mary Jean Loreche and DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda will lead the launch, underscoring their shared vision of a modern, citizen-focused government.
Through the integration of the NSCID into the eGovPH Super App, the government reaffirms its commitment to a more inclusive and digitally empowered Philippines—ensuring that no citizen, regardless of age, is left behind.
