BALINTAWAK, Caloocan City — North Luzon Expressway operator NLEX Corporation has began construction of the new Lingunan Southbound Entry that will give motorists another option to access the toll road through another entry plaza in the southbound direction of Barangay Lingunan in Valenzuela City.

Being constructed in partnership with the city government of Valenzuela, the new 491-meter entry ramp is expected to help in decongesting heavy traffic flow along Valenzuela’s local roads upon its completion by April the current year.

According to Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) president and chief-operating-officer Arrey Perez, the private-public project will improve traffic congestion in Valenzuela by providing an alternative entry point for motorists at the Paso de Blas Interchange.

“We recognize that Valenzuela is a rapidly developing city. The construction of the new southbound entry will strengthen it as a growing industrial and commercial center. We in MPTC and NLEx want to help harness that economic potential,” Perez noted.

For his part, Valenzuela City mayor Wesley Gatchalian cited that “the construction of the southbound entry in Bgy. Lingunan will provide motorists with an alternative route to reduce traffic congestion in Lawang Bato, Punturin, Maysan, Paso de Blas and the East Service Road.”

“We are very pleased to work with NLEx and the TRB (Toll Regulatory Board) on these traffic solutions for all road users,” Gatchalian enthused.
