MALOLOS, Bulacan — Giving recognition to the lesson that the youth is our country’s future, Bulacan governor Cesar ‘Daniel Fernando’ Ramirez told the young people of the province to continue dreaming their dreams even as the provincial government is ensuring that every child is safe and has a smooth path to the fulfillment of your dreams.

Fernando highlighted the efforts of the provincial government in promoting policies for the welfare of Bulacan’s youth while combating malnutrition and ensuring that there are enough funds allotted for nutrition-related programs.

“Cases of malnutrition went down due to efficient implementation of our Bulacan Nutrition Action Plan, but this has to be streamlined further and align it to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition or PPAN 2023-2028,” the governor disclosed in front of youth groups who attended his state of the children address (SOCA) at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in Malolos.

Fernando likewise commended the provincial social welfare and development office headed by Rowena Tiongson who was recently recognized as the Outstanding Provincial Nutrition Action Officer in the 2024 Gitnang Luzon Gawad Parangal sa Nutrisyon held recently in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Furthermore, he proudly announced Bulacan’s second consecutive recognition in the Gawad Edukampyon for Local Governance Award (province category) after being ranked first in the entire region for Early Childhood Care and Development Accreditation.

Currently, the province has 995 public learning centers that are catering to 48,644 enrolled children in child development centers. Moreover, 477 out of 569 barangays in the province now have child representatives as part of the Local Council for the Protection of Children.
