Supreme Court warns public against fake court documents and impersonators

BAGUIO CITY – The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday issued a renewed warning to the public about the circulation of fake orders, notices, issuances, and advisories falsely attributed to the high court and other judicial bodies.
In a public notice, the SC also cautioned against persons fraudulently posing as court employees.
The public notice issued by the High Court stressed that no court in the country use non-official communicaiton channels relating to judicial issuances.
“All courts use only official communication channels when issuing orders, notices, and other related documents. These channels may be verified at the respective websites of the Suprem ecourt, Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals and the Sandiganbayan," the notice stated.
During a briefing with reporters at the SC compound in Baguio, Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo shared that even his name has been misused in fraudulent notices.
“The best thing to do is check with the court to verify the authenticity of any court-related document, announcement or advisory. We strongly urge everyone to remain vigilant, do not be misled," said Gesmundo.
Chief Justice Gesmundo encouraged the public to report any suspicious documents, communications, or individuals to the Judiciary Public Assistance Section via chiefjusticehelpdesk@judiciary.gov.ph for proper investigation and action.
