The Department of Health has warned the public against the Facebook page that has been maliciously using the image of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa in advertising products, saying that these are fake.
The DOH clarified that Herbosa has not endorsed any product or merchandise that carries his image on Facebook.
The department has reportedly called FB’s attention over the bogus pages that have been misleading the public into believing that the products or merchandize advertised are being endorsed by the DOH chief.
“The DOH clarifies that these pages are fake and are not affiliated or endorsed by the Department and its officials,” the agency said in a press statement.
It added: “Further, any statements, comments and transactions made by these accounts are fraudulent.”
At the same time, the DOH warned that it will press criminal and civil complaints against persons behind the fake posts should they continue to pursue their illegal activities.
“The DOH continues to enjoin the public to source information only from legitimate sources and platforms such as the health department, which can be accessed through the links and social media handles…” the agency said.
