DOH: Endorsement of powdered milk brand is ‘fake news’

The Department of Health on Monday (January 29) warned the public against getting victimized by a Facebook page claiming that the agency has endorsed a brand of milk that contains colostrum.

In a public advisory, the DOH said it is not privy to the claim of endorsement.

The department clarified that “no endorsement has been made by the department and its affiliate organizations.”

Officials are apparently giving the author of the fake news to delete its postings and issue a denial immediately after the deletion.

According to the DOH “criminal charges will be pressed” if related posts will persist.

“The DOH continues to enjoin the public to source information only form legitimate sources and platforms such as the health department which can be accessed through the links and social media handles..,” the DOH,advisory read.

Earlier, the Food and Drug Administration also warned the public against purchasing and consuming the unregistered CLEOs Garlic Chips and Shapes Bakeshop Ugoy Ugoy Sugar Glazed Biscuit.

IN an advisory, the FDA said the absence of proper evaluation process lacks the assurance the the food products mentioned are safe for human consumption.
