Deep fake nudes courtesy of artificial intelligence is slowly turning into a serious area of concern that will soon confront women, especially young girls.

This soon-to-be social crisis is among the reason why social media firms Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) have decided to blur out posts of nude images.

Instagram has introduced a new feature that would protect the public from social media offenders who use AI generated nude images to commit their illegal activities.

The new tool blurs images detected as containing nudity. It also issues warning against the user against doing it again.

Instagram has decided to turn on the nudity protection by default for teens under 18 years old.

In the United States and several European countries where AI technology is a step ahead of other nations, many parents and their teenage daughters are complaining against nude photographs of the young girls that are usually fabricated using AI.

In a public school in New Jersey, girls belonging to the 10th grade have complained that male classmates have been posting sexually explicit photographs of them which were falsified but appeared to be real.

School administrators have been warned against the developing social malady .

It has been reported that several states have also started to feel the deep fake nudes in the social media as a result of the easy availability of nudity apps.

“Boys in several states have used widely available ‘nudification’ apps to pervert real, identifiable photos of their clothed female classmates, shown attending events including school proms, into graphic convincing-looking images of the girls with exposed AI generated breasts and genitalia,” the New York Times reported recently.

The AI-generated deep-fakes of unwitting female victims are not only used to embarrass girls or make fun of them, cyber criminals and blackmailers are also starting to apply them in their nefarious activities.
