A widower from Catanduanes was arrested in Cainta, Rizal where he fled after being charged with raping a minor he allegedly committed right after he turned senior at 60 nine years.

Accused of raping the minor daughter of a former live-in partner in San Andres, Catanduanes, the arrested suspect, now 69 was cornered at a house in San Isidro, Cainta on Monday (September 9).

His identity has not been revealed by the arresting team reportedly composed of police operatives from Catanduanes and Cainta City.

A warrant of arrest has been issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Virac against the accused who reportedly escaped before he could be arraigned on the rape charge.

He remained detained at the Cainta police station but is expected to be transferred to Catanduanes as soon as full documentation of his arrest is completed.

The presiding judge of RTC 42 denied bail for the accused.
