CAMP CRAME, Quezon City — Beleaguered religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is set to undergo another medical examination during his extended medical furlough, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brigadier General Jean Fajardo.

“He is doing okay. However, iyong kanilang motion for another medical examination was approved by the court. So the PNP just complied with the court order,” Fajardo disclosed in a press briefing.

Quiboloy, who is detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame in Quezon City, was brought to the Philippine Heart Center early this month after complaining about chest discomfort. A week later, he was returned to his cell in the detention facility.

However, the Pasig City court hearing the pastor’s criminal complaints granted the request for an extension of his medical furlough until Wednesday, November 27, this time over dental issues.

According to Fajardo, the founder of the religious group Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC) was brought to the Philippine Heart Center on Saturday, November 23, and is expected to return to the PNP Custodial Center by 4:00 in the afternoon of November 27.

The Pasig City court earlier dismissed the plea of Quiboloy for his hospital arrest.

Quiboloy, a self-proclaimed ‘Son of God’ is facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208 as well as violation of Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
