There are no Dutertes but there are two Tulfos in the list of senatorial aspirants that are qualified to run in the 2025 mid-term elections.

The Commission on Elections released Wednesday (October 16) the list of 66 senatorial bets who will slug it out for the 12 vacancies in the Senate.

The names of 117 individuals who filed their certificates of candidacy for the 2025 polls were no longer included in the list, with the Comelec pointing out that they have failed to qualify for a slot to join the elections.

The final list does not reflect anybody from the family of former President Rodrigo Duterte. The former chief executive has filed for mayor in Davao City while his sons, Paolo and Sebastian, are seeking congressional and vice mayoral posts in the city.

Previously, it was announced that at least two Dutertes will seek a Senate seat.

Instead of the Dutertes, brothers Bien and Erwin Tulfo will run in the national elections, clearly taking advantage of their current popularity.

Another brother, Senator Raffy Tulfo still has four years remaining on his first term as senator.
