Female commuters can avail of the free rides offered by MRT-3, LRT-2, and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) this month in line with the celebration of International Women's Day on Friday, March 8.

Both LRT-2 and MRT-3 will offer free rides for women during peak hours on Friday, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the PCG offers free rides for women from Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange to SM Mall of Asia before going to Cubao, Quezon City, and vice versa.

The service will be available on March 6, 13, and 20 at 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Celebrated on March 8 every year, the International Women's Day has been observed for over a century.

For 2024, the theme for the celebration is "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," aimed at tackling economic disempowerment.

In the Philippines, the entire month of March is commemorated as National Women's Month."
