MINDANAO AVENUE, Quezon City —Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo was a ‘no show’ at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on Friday night (September 20) as her transfer from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame was placed on hold because the documentary requirements for the transfer of custody was incomplete.

According to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson Jail Chief Inspector Jayrex Joseph Bustinera, the transfer was not done due to the fact that the PNP was unable to complete the documentary requirements, including medical assessment, for Guo to be committed to the Pasig City Jail.

“According to (the) PNP, hindi lang po nakumpleto ang lahat ng requirements (kaya) naka-standby pa rin po ang BJMP this weekend and anytime kung kailan man po sasabihin nila na ililipat na nila (si Guo),” Bustinera disclosed.

“Sa BJMP kasi, we want to ensure din na hindi mahahawa ang ibang mga PDL (persons deprived of liberty) namin sa pag-transfer. Kailangan po talaga na kumpleto ang documents, kailangan po doon iyong medical, X-ray niya (and) ECG,” he added.

On her transfer, Guo will be sharing her cell at the prison facility with 44 inmates, despite the area being designed to accommodate nine detainees only.

The said president of the firm Lucky South 99 that operates the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga was ordered transferred by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167 where Guo’s non-bailable case of qualified human trafficking had been filed and arraigned.

Guo will be detained in the female dormitory along with the three co-accused of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy who are facing qualified human trafficking charges also filed before the Pasig RTC.

Bustinera assured that the facilities where Guo would be transferred was clean and sanitary but he added that she would not be given any special treatment while in detention.

Earlier in the day, Guo posted bail of ₱540,000 for her graft charges pending before the Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court Branch 282. Regarding her other case before the Pasig RTC which is non-bailable, Guo’s legal counsel Atty. Stephen David stated that they will still a petition to allow her client to post bail similar to those of senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile.

Guo’s arraignment was supposed to be held on the same day of her transfer of detention but it was postponed after her camp filed a motion to quash information. The prosecution and Guo’s legal team have until Wednesday, September 25, to file a comment on the motion.
