Fuel products will cost an average of PhP1.20 more to motorists next week, according to estimates made by the Department of Energy.
The price adjustments that will meet motorists on April 1 are as follows:
Gasoline - additional PHP1.20 to PHP1.40 / liter
Diesel - additional PHP1.00 to PHP1.20 / liter
Kerosene - additional PHP1.00 to PHP1.20 / liter
The increase in fuel cost is based on the previous trading days on the Mean of Platts Singapore.
The DOE disclosed that the adjustments were influenced by the trade sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran. This has triggered a decrease in oil production by one million barrels.
Also cited as reason are the ongoing attacks on energy installations in Russia and Ukraine.
Fuel price hikes have been going on after three straight weeks of cost rollbacks.
