SCHEVENINGEN, The Hague — Vice president 'Inday' Sara Duterte-Carpio is reminding everyone that whatever problems the Philippines is now facing is because of other issues, like graft and corruption and widespread poverty truggered by inflation, and not because of her family.

“Let us not forget that the problem of our country is not we Dutertes,” she enthusef, apparently lamenting that some government officials and Filipinos, particularly the alleged victims of her father's strongman rule and the war on drugs, are blaming the Duterte’s for their predicament.

This is according to former president Rodrigo Duterte’s eldest daughter, who is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, for her father’s scheduled appearance before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the case situation of crimes against humanity being leveled against the former chief executive.

In a video sent by the Office of the Vice President to the media, VP Duterte appeared to be taking a jab at the current Marcos Jr. administration.

“The real problem of the nation is that all of you are here, working in a foreign country because there are no opportunities in our own land,” she enthused.

“Poverty continues, hunger persists, and progress remains out of reach. You see the Netherlands, right? We want to be like the Netherlands," she added.

The vice president thanked all the supporters of her father.

“We see the peace rallies in the Philippines and in various parts of the world. We are grateful that there are those who pray—many are praying,” she cited, speaking with a group of Filipinos who can be heard reacting to her statement.

The former president was arrested in Manila on Tuesday under an ICC warrant ang just hours later, he was flown to The Hague on the same day. VP Duterte followed and arrived in the Netherlands on Friday. She was seen with former presidential spokesperson Atty. Herminio 'Harry' Roque Jr., a listed ICC counsel, and actor-turned-senator Robin 'Robinhood' Padilla.
