₱20k incentive for teachers, non-teaching staff to be released on December 20

DEPED CENTRAL OFFICE, Pasig City — Staring Friday, December 20, the Department of Education (DepEd) will be releasing the ₱20,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for teachers and non-teaching staff.
According to education secretary Edgardo 'Sonny' Angara, following the release by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) of a Circular Letter and a DepEd Memorandum on the FY 2024 SRI, the funding for the incentive will be downloaded to DepEd's regional offices for immediate disbursement.
"This is a historic moment for DepEd, as we are able to grant the highest SRI ever for our workforce," Angara enthused.
"We are deeply grateful to President (Ferdinand) Marcos Jr. for his steadfast support in prioritizing the welfare of teachers and staff who serve as the backbone of the education sector," he added.
Angara also thanked budget secretary Amenah 'Mina' Pangandaman for closely working with the DepEd to provide promptly the incentive.
